SPECTRUM Director closes Edinburgh Science Festival at cathedral service

Sunday 14th April 2024

The 2024 Edinburgh Science Festival concluded with a service at St Giles Cathedral, an historic venue dating from 1124 and that prominently featured last year in the memorial services for Queen Elizabeth II.

For the Festival service this year, SPECTRUM Director Professor Linda Bauld gave the address on the Festival's 2024 theme of 'Shaping the Future'. She spoke about the history of public health and how the Usher Institute's origins have informed it's current and future work and that of its collaborators, including via SPECTRUM's  research to address smoking.
